They Exist (Creatus 0.5) ~ Carmen DeSousa

Ever wonder where they get the legends of the mighty heroes that saved so many? Well, Ms. DeSousa has created a world & heroes, but they are not exactly who or what you would think they were. She gives them such personalities, that keeps you reading from one story to the next. (LOL I read 3 of the novels, and I am going to get the next ASAP.)
But when Ms. DeSousa created these Creatus’ she has to create human’s they might run across or know. Human’s that meant something to these Creatus’, whether it was negative or positive. She provides them with a large variety of personalities … some you want to bitch-slap & tell them to pull their heads out of the rear-ends & others you just want to hug or get to know.

Creatus have been on Earth for around 4,000 yrs. but have managed to stay pretty much hidden by becoming doctors or lawyers. But they have security, that will sweep in and move the Creatus or the Creatus family if they are discovered. But sadly with mankind becoming more advance … computers, video cameras, photography … the Creatus have pretty much found a way to “hide” themselves in communities & schools that go above & beyond to protect the young. Plus they usually “hide” the birth for years before creating a birth certificate.

This story tells of a “young” Creatus, who meets a young woman in medical school. There is a connection with this woman, but it is not the connections that will cause him to be forever bound to her.
See, when Creatus’ fall in love, there is a connection that will keep them bound to the other party for life. They are usually the ones who you read about when couples die within days of each other, the connection is that strong.
This woman, Derrick (Creatus) feels the need to protect. He will not know why until years down the road. But the overwhelming desire to keep her safe makes Derrick “watch” from the roof tops each & every night she is out. Something that the older generations of Creatus would do … until it was too risky being caught on any type of camera. Or worse because someone would use the internet to discover that this amazing hero who could leap most tall buildings was helping keep the city safe.

This is the beginning tale of a great series. It draws you in & once it has you … you want to keep reading. It does not create just one hero, like you would find in Superman, but she has created a societies of them.
